Kim Devooght is the Vice President, Federal Public Sector, for IBM Canada. In this capacity,Mr. Devooght is responsible for providing the full range of IBM products, services,solutions and consulting to the Canadian federal government, as well as other publicsector institutions in the Ottawa area. In addition, Mr. Devooght is the Senior LocationExecutive for IBM in Ottawa. Prior to his appointment to this position in July, 1998, Mr.Devooght was General Manager, Government Service Delivery, IBM Global GovernmentIndustry, responsible for the development and deployment of public access and electroniccommerce solutions with governments around the world.
Mr. Devooght joined IBM in February 1996, after a successful career of 22 years ingovernment at both the federal and provincial level in Canada. In his last assignmentwith the Ontario provincial government, he was Assistant Deputy Minister, Safety andRegulation for the Ontario Ministry of Transportation, and Registrar of Motor Vehicles forthe province. He was the accountable executive in Ontario during development andimplementation of ServiceOntario, as well as many other service delivery and road safetyinnovations.
In addition to his professional responsibilities,Mr. Devooght is the Chairman of theOutCare Foundation (formerly the Riverside Hospital Foundation), supporting communitybased health care in Eastern Ontario. He also sits on the Board of Directors for theSnowsuit Fund in Ottawa, and the Advisory Board of the Association of Public SectorInformation Professionals (DPI), and the Public Sector Business Committee of theInformation Technology Association of Canada.
Mr. Devooght has a B.A.(Hons.) in Public Administration from Carleton University inOttawa, Ontario, Canada, and a Masters in Business Administration from York Universityin Toronto, Ontario, Canada. He has also attended executive education programs atQueen’s University in Kingston, Ontario, and Harvard University in CambridgeMassachusetts.
Mr. Devooght is married with one son, and resides in Manotick, Ontario.
