John Masters has held the position of President and Chief Executive Officer of Calgary Technologies Inc. since February 1998, after having been promoted to Chief Operating Officer the previous May. John had joined the organization as Director of INFOPORT™ in September of 1994.
Calgary Technologies Inc. is an economic development group focussed on the advanced technology sector. CTI's programs include technology incubation, technology commercialization, technology facilities and technology advocacy focussing on the life sciences and information communication technology sub-sectors.

After graduating from Carleton University in Ottawa, and spending his first few years on Parliament Hill as a Special Assistant, John has had several progressive assignments in the I.T. industry throughout Canada over the last twenty-five years, including Director of Honeywell Industrial Automation Systems for Western Canada.
John has lived in Calgary since 1987 along with his wife and son. John has a "thirst" for downhill skiing, golfing, general aerobic activities and 4-season mountain activities.
