Pierre Boucher holds an Electrical Engineering degree from l'École Polytechnique de Montréal. Initially employed as a senior computer analyst and project manager, he later joined the Cantel team (now Rogers) as head of network research. Pierre Boucher is now part of the Ericsson team and has been for the past fourteen years. He contributed to the introduction of open systems technologies at Ericsson, attracting several new mandates for the Montreal team. Among these is the creation of support systems for operators, as well as third generation systems. In 2001, his team received the “Prix des Mercuriades” for “Innovation of the Year” in large scale organizations. In 2004, Pierre Boucher received the “Prix Carrière industrielle” from the “ADRIQ”. At the present time, Pierre Boucher is employed as Research and Innovation’s Director for Ericsson Canada. His responsibilities include overlooking activities relating to third generation wireless systems, open system platforms and technological innovation. He is also Co-Chair of the Ericsson Canada Innovation Council. Pierre Boucher is also a member of the International Institute of Telecommunications (IIT) Science Committee in Montreal, as well as a member of the board of directors of Prompt-Québec and of the ADRIQ
