Peter Thomas MA, CMC


Mr. Thomas has over 35 years of experience in the Information and Communications Technology (ICT) industry. Prior to joining CATA Alliance he has been a successful independent consultant in Ottawa focusing his practice on the Federal Government and Crown Corporations. In this role he has worked extensively on the development of strategies and plans for optimizing his clients' management and use of their information management and information technology environments. Mr. Thomas' work emphasizes the effective use of Information Technology to support the organization.

His previous work experience included serving as Director of Technology Consulting for Fujitsu Consulting in Ottawa and partner at Information Systems Group. In addition to his consulting work he has held responsible positions in the Banking sector both in Canada and overseas, and has also worked with the manufacturing sector.Mr. Thomas' expertise covers the business and architectural views of information technologies, and their successful introduction into organizations. His areas of competence include ICT Strategy and Planning; Governance and Organization; Enterprise Architecture; ICT Value and Consulting Practice Development and Management

Mr. Thomas graduated from Trinity College Dublin with a major in History and Political Science. He also has a Diploma in Management Studies from the University of Aston. He is a member of the Canadian Association of Management Consultants for whom he has worked to assist small businesses in understanding the Federal Government's procurement processes. Mr. Thomas' ICT architectural experience was recognized when he was rated by Treasury Board's Expert Project Consultant Program as one of the top-ranking architects consulting to Government. He also holds the Foundation Certificate in IT Service Management (ITIL).
