Simon Bennett
Chief Technology Officer
Information Management & Technology Division, Calgary Police Service

Simon has more than 25 years of senior leadership experience in Information Systems, Operational and Project roles across various industries including, Policing, Oil & Gas, Logistics, Defense and Government. His international experience includes the United Kingdom, Germany, Falkland Islands, Norway, Bosnia, Kosovo and the Middle East.

He has held executive positions with the strategic oversight and responsibility for Information Systems across multiple large scale projects and organizations. Most recently, he held the position of Chief Information Officer & Vice President Business Services for a Calgary-based Oil & Gas Services Company. He holds an MBA from Oxford Brookes University, a Higher National Diploma in Software Engineering and is a certified PMP and PRINCE2 project manager.

Simon is originally from the UK, he moved to Calgary with his wife and two daughters in 2010, gaining Canadian citizenship in 2015. He is a member of the CIO Association of Canada, sits on the University of Calgary Project Management Advisory Committee, coaches for the Blizzards Soccer Club and is a volunteer Canadian Ski Patrol, based at Nakiska.
