29th Annual CATAAlliance Innovation and Leadership Awards Gala Dinner

Join us to celebrate the best of Canadian innovation and see the world's most adopted technologies. For nearly three decades, the CATAAlliance Innovation and Leadership Awards Gala Dinner has been celebrating the best in Canadian advanced technology. It has become one of the most eagerly awaited events in Canada's business calendar.

At the Awards Gala, the winners are recognized for their innovation, expertise, and leadership in Canada's advanced technology community.

This year Carleton President & Vice Chancellor, Roseanne O'Reilly Runte will welcome delegates and introduce the Gala theme: Innovation Leadership.

CATAAlliance actively encourages all of Canada's political leaders and citizens generally to better understand and embrace what it takes to create a knowledge based Canada.

We present our competitive Innovation Nation Advocacy as if CATA is a political party, the party of the Canadian high tech innovation industry.

In keeping with the model of a political party, we have invited CATA National Spokesperson & Chair of Mitel and Wesley Clover, Sir Terence Matthews to present the State of the Union address to our Gala audience, a report on the condition of the innovation nation and an opportunity for Mr. Matthews to outline a legislative agenda and national priorities.

Mr. Matthews has either founded or funded over 80 companies since 1972 including Newbridge Networks, a company he launched in 1986 and which became a leader in the worldwide data networking industry.

Our keynote will also join an Executive Panel of public and private sector executives who will share insights into innovation leadership.

Some of the key topics that we will explore include:

  • the power of innovation
  • the CEO is not the only leader any more
  • combing the power of innovation and citizen engagement
  • preparing our nation for the future
  • best practices for success

Our experts will help provide a vision of Leadership for the 21st Century, including: All Star executives from start ups to large flagships; and, public sector leaders.

All Star Executive Panel:

Josh Blair, Chief Corporate Officer, TELUS, where he leads programs to attract and retain the best talent in the global telecommunication industry, and model of best work places in Canada.

Meg Beckel, President & CEO, Canadian Museum of Nature where she has launched a digital strategy to achieve global community rankings.
