Watch as CATAAlliance’s Chief Business Officer, Kevin Wennekes, interviews Laraine Kaminsky, President and CEO of cultural and diversity consulting firm, GlobalLK, regarding the upcoming High Impact Communication Skills breakfast seminar being offered by member organization In-TAC on Tuesday, September 20, 2016 in Ottawa.
In this 10-minute briefing, Ms. Kaminsky describes how key cultural and workplace integration challenges can be addressed through a better understanding of how employees from “collectivist, indirect communications” cultures such as the Philippines, China, India, Pakistan, are challenged in adapting to the North American “individualist” culture. Describing some of the key differences in the two cultures, Ms. Kaminsky also reflects on solutions such as changing how questions are asked and adjusting recruitment practices.
