Ryan Jepson

Staff Sergeant, Electronic Surveillance Unit, Calgary Police Service

Ryan Jepson is the Staff Sergeant in charge of the Electronic Surveillance Unit of the Calgary Police Service leading teams with specializations in digital forensics, cybercrime, and electronic surveillance. Ryan has been a member of the Calgary Police Service for 20 years and worked in a variety of roles including front line patrol and supervision; high risk offender management; and drug, organized crime, and sexual assault investigations. He is a member of a National Tech Crimes Advisory Committee and a National Online Investigations Working Group - which are collaborations of the justice and law enforcement sector developing national standards for investigative excellence. Ryan holds a Master’s Degree in Justice and Public Safety Leadership from Royal Roads University, a Certificate in Information Assurance and Risk Management from the University of Washington, as well as a Certificate in Information Assurance from the Center for Information Assurance and Cybersecurity at UW.
