For the past three years, CATA has engaged in a number of initiatives exploring Global Sourcing trends in Canada, including the convening of an Outsourcing Committee, conducting of an e-survey of Canadian outsource providers and their clients, individual and group consultations, open research and information exchanges with leading research organizations, and the delivery of the Trends in Global Sourcing Conference conducted in April 2005 and November 2005.
A primary concern voiced throughout the consultations was that of Canada needing to take immediate action in order to capitalize on its advantages as a global sourcing destination. While often heard concerns included a lack of leadership, difficulties in obtaining quality research, non-existent branding, and poor media/political gesturing and messaging, a need for immediate action was clearly the prevalent theme.
Towards the ends of starting the Country on a path that leads to it being a sourcing destination of choice, CATAAlliance, with the support and input of dozens of key knowledge leaders crafted a preliminary Global Sourcing Action Roadmap for Canada.
