Peter is the CFO of Halogen Software, previously co-founder and Managing Partner of Axis Capital Corporation, an early-stage venture capital firm based in Ottawa, Canada. Over the past three years, Peter has worked with numerous early-stage technology companies helping them with their growth and early stage business issues. Peter has been a key contributor in numerous private financings, corporate and partnership reorganizations, and the creation and operation of a publicly traded labour sponsored fund. Prior to Axis, Peter spent his career in public accounting practice and most recently with Deloitte & Touche LLP as a Senior Tax Manager within the High Technology Group. At Deloitte & Touche, Peter worked with numerous technology startups advising them on tax, research and development and corporate business issues, including venture capital structures and partnerships. Peter actively participates at the government policy level on behalf of the technology community through his work representing the interests of small business and startups on the Partnership Committee of the Canada Customs and Revenue Agency's Scientific Research and Experimental Development incentive program. Peter has also advised numerous students on case studies being developed at universities such as Carleton, Mount Allison and George Washington University. Peter is a member of the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants, the Canadian Venture Capital Association and the Association of Labour Sponsored Investment Fund. |
