CATAAlliance Teleforum in cooperation with ISTP Canada and the Foreign Affairs and International Trade Canada (DFAIT)
May 10th, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. EST

Brazil is perceived today as one of the fastest growing economies in the world; business opportunities are emerging for Canadian companies in every sector. Brazil represents countless opportunities that will boost innovation and technology developments in the next years in Brazil.

CATAAlliance is currently organizing a series of initiatives, including networking and matchmaking activities to foster and support bilateral Business-to-Business (B2B) collaborations. This includes research and development partnerships leading to commercialization.  It’s our mandate to forge new B2B alliances and accelerate existing ones by exploring Canada-Brazil R&D collaboration as a way to foster Canada’s competitiveness and access to new markets.

CATAAlliance is joining forces with International Science and Technology Partnerships Canada (ISTPCanada) and the Canadian Consulate General in São Paulo (Brazil) to encourage Canadian companies and their Brazilian Counterparts to propose bilateral R&D projects for the joint development of innovative products or processes. ISTPCanada and Brazilian partners, together with the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council (NSERC), are hosting Calls for Proposals (CFP) to fund industry-led collaborative R&D projects between Canada and Brazil.

The CFPs aim to fund innovative R&D cooperation between Canadian and Brazilian companies that address a specific market need or challenge; demonstrate high commercial potential; and deliver benefit to all participants, and more broadly, to both countries.

Join us for this 1-hour Teleforum to learn about the various programs that promote and support Canada-Brazil R&D collaboration. This session will provide Canadian and Brazilian companies an opportunity to learn about the funding opportunities for Canadian and Brazilian companies working together on joint products and processes
