CATAAlliance Innovation Awards are now open for your nominations

The Toronto Stock Exchange/TSX Venture Exchange Emerging Technology Leadership Award is given in recognition of the recent launch of an innovative new product. Advanced technology products, technology-based services and products that utilize emerging technologies may be considered. Entries will be judged in relation to the degree of innovation incorporated in the product and its market potential. 

The 2009 Winner: Alberta Research Council (ARC) that pioneered a group of novel technologies to make 'wheat sheet.' An environmental landmark in North American paper production, wheat sheet saw its first commercial application in June 2008, when it was used as the printing stock for Canadian Geographic's annual environmental edition. This milestone demonstrated that Canadian industry can excel in environmental leadership by diversifying its paper fiber sources to include substantial amounts of straw left over from agricultural production.

The Innovation Awards will be presented on May 19th, 2010 in Ottawa at the CATAAlliance's Annual Innovation Awards Gala Dinner, a 24 year tradition of recognizing outstanding technological innovation and corporate leadership in expanding the frontiers of Canada's advanced technology industries.
