Ottawa, May 22, 2007... the Canadian Red Cross has launched a new Supply Chain Portal for vendors who have technologies and capabilities strategic to the Red Cross' mandate and future vision.

The Canadian Red Cross is a not-for-profit, humanitarian organization dedicated to improving the lives of vulnerable people by mobilizing the power of humanity in Canada and around the world. It helps people affected by emergency situations ranging from an individual house fire to a flood that disrupts an entire region of the country. A leader in injury prevention, the Red Cross provides a wide range of community-based services which enhance the well-being and dignity of all people, be they frail or elderly, children at risk, disabled, or palliative patients.

In establishing the new Portal, the Red Cross is extending its outreach to identify partnerships and alliances with vendors who believe in their mandate and who would like to work with them to develop and realize its vision for the future - help the Red Cross build capacity at the community level and to respond to future disasters.
