"Always on, Aways Connected"
Ottawa, May 22, 2007... the Canadian Red Cross has launched a new Supply Chain Portal for vendors who have technologies and capabilities strategic to the Red Cross' mandate and future vision.
The Canadian Red Cross is a not-for-profit, humanitarian organization dedicated to improving the lives of vulnerable people by mobilizing the power of humanity in Canada and around the world. It helps people affected by emergency situations ranging from an individual house fire to a flood that disrupts an entire region of the country. A leader in injury prevention, the Red Cross provides a wide range of community-based services which enhance the well-being and dignity of all people, be they frail or elderly, children at risk, disabled, or palliative patients.
In establishing the new Portal, the Red Cross is extending its outreach to identify partnerships and alliances with vendors who believe in their mandate and who would like to work with them to develop and realize its vision for the future - help the Red Cross build capacity at the community level and to respond to future disasters.
Supply Chain Portal Benefits
Quality Red Cross programs and services are delivered across the entire country by qualified Red Cross staff members complemented by over 20,000 dedicated and highly trained community based volunteers. Since it was established more than 100 years ago, the Canadian Red Cross has become part of the nation's social fabric, and enjoys the reputation of being one of Canada's most respected institutions.
The Red Cross is also a Gateway to the 185 countries comprising the global Red Cross network and thus a potential springboard to export sales for Canadian technologies and services.
Hélène Mousseau, CIO, Canadian Red Cross , concludes, "We encourage you to submit information about your company and how your services might best be aligned to ours so that we can learn more about you and the value you can bring to The Canadian Red Cross Society."
CATAAlliance acts as the primary conduit and facilitator of the IT procurement process for the Canadian Red Cross.
