ICT Trade mission to U.S. Air Force
The Canadian Consulate General/Atlanta is pleased to encourage Canadian ICT companies to participate in the annual U.S. Air Force (USAF) IT Conference & Expo. Aug 30- Sept. 2, 2010.. This event has taken place for the past 24 years in Montgomery, Alabama, the home of Maxwell Air Force Base. Last year the booths sold out and there was a large waiting list of exhibitors.
The USAF is the largest user of ICT in the world. It is the largest customer of Microsoft, Symantec, Sun Microsystems, Dell and numerous other IT vendors. Last year’s conference had an emphasis on security and wireless products, but includes all aspects of ICT. Lasy year Steve Ballmer, CEO of MicroSoft was the industry keynoter.
Additional opportunities include technical presentations at well attended specific breakout sessions and matchmaking with major VARS serving the Air Force. There is a free matchmaking activity for all exhibiting and non-exhibiting vendors where you can meet in prearranged sessions with the major VARs serving the Air Force. This year, the conference will also host industry and government keynote presentations by , and several leading commanders in the United States Air Force.
There is currently a CALL for Papers and you are invited to submit suggested seminar topics ranging from security, emerging technology, unique solutions for common information technology problems, software, hardware, LANs, portal, process improvement, service oriented architecture, network control centers, operationalizing and professionalizing the network, system and network administration, computer maintenance, reduced cost of ownership initiatives, web technology, and new uses for older technology. Keep in mind the purpose of the seminar is to inform and teach; They are NOT looking for product sales demonstrations.
To present a seminar, complete the Call for Papers Form by 1 May 2010. Vendors may only submit a maximum of five (5) applications. You will be notified 3 June 2010 if your paper was selected. Following the acceptance notification, you must submit your outline in MS PowerPoint 2000 format via email or CD by 8 July 2010 so it can be loaded upon your arrival and for inclusion on the AFITC web page following the conference.
