Darren Entwistle, President and Chief Executive Officer, TELUS Corporation
Please take five minutes to view our Module #4 video of TELUS President & CEO, Darren Entwistle, who was interviewed recently by Hart Hillman, CATAAlliance National Leadership Council member, on the importance of innovation and mentorship to creating Canada's competitive innovation nation.

In this Module, Mr. Entwistle talks about innovation in giving back to help build healthy and sustainable communities.

He underlines the power of volunteerism as an important resource to help communities address their self identified needs. The outcome is a symbiotic relationship between organizations and community.

Mr. Entwistle offers the view that contributions to society leads to higher employee engagement; technology is seen as aid to reducing carbon footprint and enabling mobility.

He refers to the role of TELUS's community Boards that combine community leaders with TELUS employees; local ownership leads to better social outcomes. For TELUS the chosen route is a micro contribution model targeting support to many grassroots charities where a little means a lot.

Having employees help fellow citizens in need builds a beneficial common cause engagement between corporations and their local communities.
